Shawn McKenzie, President & CEO of Ascendian Healthcare Consulting, has been appointed to a leadership position with one of the Sacramento region's most influential economic development organizations. Known as SARTA, the Sacramento Area Regional Technology Alliance was established in 2001 to support entrepreneurial programs, companies and technology investment throughout Sacramento and the surrounding area.
McKenzie will take the helm as the lead voice of SARTA’s Tele-health Task Force “Thought Leadership Team”, an incubator whose primary focus is on integrating technological advancements into healthcare delivery. "I consider it a distinct privilege to be included among this group of progressive professionals, so taking on the responsibility of leading the Thought Leadership Team is truly an honor," McKenzie commented.
The Tele-health Task Force is designed to seek expanded uses of remote medicine using technological alternatives to the delivery methodology of healthcare providers and to provide innovative solutions to the healthcare industry. Specifically, the Task Force collaborates to identify opportunities to demonstrate how technology can best serve the healthcare community through the use of tele-medicine.
